Estates & Trusts

Our attorneys understand that it is never too early to plan for your future with regard to your assets and care options. Putting a detailed estate plan in place can help mitigate potential disputes and challenges when distributing assets to beneficiaries or and/or settling your affairs when you’re gone.  We provide legal guidance to clients regarding estate planning matters, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advanced care directives, and special needs planning.  Our team of attorneys is available to discuss your situation to determine the right estate plan that best fits your needs.

Powers of Attorney and Living Wills will provide control of your assets and long-term care options.  A Power of Attorney allows you to appoint a person (an agent or attorney-in-fact) to help manage your property, taxes, legal and financial affairs should you become unable for unavailable to do so on your own.  Living Wills, or advance healthcare directives, are legal documents that provide detailed instructions about a person’s preferred medical care in the event they are unable to make such decisions themselves.

Regardless of how sizeable your assets are, it is important to create A Will or a Trust that document how those assets will be distributed.  Our estate planning services assist you with the distribution of your property as well as allowing you to gain maximum benefit of all laws, all in accordance with your wishes.  When you die, your estate includes everything that you own including homes, vehicles, personal belongings, bank accounts, retirement funds, investments, life insurance policies, and more.  If you don’t plan for your future by creating a Will, an administrator may or may not know your wishes in order to make those decisions on your behalf in probate court.

Whether you need help drafting a Will or Living Trust, or want to update your existing estate plan, Dillon McCandless King Coulter & Graham LLP can guide you through every phase of the process and help you make informed decisions.  We will help you address your needs and concerns, create a solution to protect your estate, and help you achieve your goals for distributing assets to beneficiaries and heirs.
